SINS OF THE FATHERS
Belgium has defended itself after Pope Benedict XVI blasted a series of raids by investgators and the detention of senior clerics in a child sex abuse investigation as "deplorable".
(THE INDEPENDENT, June 29, 2010)
A string of sex-abuse scandals across Europe rocks the Catholic Church and threatens to undermine Pope Benedict XVI.
(TIMES, March 29, 2010)
"We must frankly admit that we have no source of information with respect to the life of Jesus other than ecclesiastic writings put together during the latter part of the Fourth Century."
"It is amazing that neither history nor tradition should have embalmed for us even one certain or definite saying or circumstance in the life of the saviour of mankind, except the comparatively few events in the four brief Gospels. There is no statement in all history that says anyone saw Jesus or talked with him. Nothing in history is more astonishing than the silence of contemporary writers of the events relayed in the four Gospels relative to Jesus, his disciples and his work."
"The chief of the (Mithraic) fathers, a sort of pope, who always lived at Rome, was called Pater Patrum".
Announcing one of the most explosive books of our generation!
We at Stanford House Publishing are pleased to be the publishers of a sensational new book by one of the more controversial authors of our time, Mr. Tony Bushby. Tony is the author of a series of international books that fuelled worldwide controversy, in provoking a fresh debate on the Church’s presentation of the most enigmatic figure in history, Jesus Christ. Whereas, in his latest book, The Christ Scandal, he has successfully managed to convert dauntingly complex material into a very readable A to Z format!
Rare Information
Upon receiving correspondence from his readership, some distinguished themselves by sending Tony new research material in the form of old manuscripts, rare books, and ancient Church decrees. Rabbinic sources also provided fresh data, as did researchers and translators of medieval text, of which, fortuitously, paved the way for a granting of access to private archival libraries. Also, of great help to Tony was the availability of an original version of Diderot’s Encyclopedia, a volume that Pope Clement XIII ordered destroyed, immediately after its publication in 1759. Other material of interest came through the Abbot of a monastery in England who supplied a collection of 35-millimetre slides, being of records preserved in their archives and possessing content relating to 'Christian' origins in Britain. Also, from this same source came a 70,000-word manuscript written by a priest who spent 12-years of research in the Secret Vatican Archives. These treasured snippets of information were leaked to Tony shortly after the priest's death. Much of that material is revelatory and recorded in his books.
Tony Bushby's writings aspire to give people an alternative to religion's faith and belief that he hopes will engender a refocusing on what is historically real; which then, hopefully, will enable space for 'new truths' to emerge. Thus, his energy is centered on the examination of extant history, as the facts are found presented, without religious prejudice. This is the task at hand, which has resulted in the production of his volumes.
